Help

Built with Seam

You can find the full source code for this website in the Seam package in the directory /examples/wiki. It is licensed under the LGPL.

The Seam forums are frequented by enthusiastic Seam users who want to help others in their free time. You should not rely on voluntary help for a critical project. Consider commercial support if you need guaranteed response times.

  • Register a community account with your real name (e.g. not seamrulez! or I am superman). Accounts with fantasy names will be warned to change the name. If the warning is ignored, the account will be deleted.
  • Please refrain from using explicit images as your profile image. Using a picture of yourself let's other people form a connection with you, but if you are not comfortable with that, you may use a safe for work avatar.
  • If you think you found a bug or want to request a feature, follow these guidelines.
  • If you have a Seam usage question, provide enough information so someone can help you, including source code, exception stack traces, log excerpts, Seam versions, and so on. Please post the minimum, and only the minimum amount of code that is required to understand your question. Do not post 10 pages of logs, narrow down the problem first!

In general, a respectful tone is the right way to get free help from others in the community, demanding answers is not. In that spirit:

  • Please do not post questions that are unrelated to Seam (e.g. Hibernate or Richfaces questions). Use the forums of these open source projects. Administrators can not move your question to the right forum.
  • Please do not bump up your posting if you didn't get a reply. Please do not cross-post questions. This includes questions you already posted on other forums (Hibernate, Richfaces, Spring, etc.) and to which you received no reply. Pushing other people out of the way to be the first in line is not considered acceptable behavior.
  • Please refrain from attacking other community members or threatening the Seam developers verbally (I won't use Seam if you guys don't do this for me...).

Postings that violate these rules will be removed by forum administrators.
