I wanted to give a heads up to our users in China that I'll be heading back to China at the beginning of September. I'll be giving a talk at the Beijing JBoss Users Group, tentatively schedule for September 2. If you are in the Beijing area, I hope you'll come out and say hi.

I'd love to meet up with as many Seam users as possible, so if anyone can help me make a connection with other local Java user's groups or would like to organize some sort of informal meetup somewhere else, please get in touch with me. I know I'll definitely be in Shanghai, and there's a good chance I'll make it down south to Guangzhou again, perhaps even into Hong Kong this time. But, those plans are all flexible, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you can help me set up something in another area.

Hi, that's good news !

Also i'm in hangzhou, not beijing, but I can post this event in some java community, I hope can let more java and seam users know this event.

BTW,at 2008 ,05,24 ,you came to hangzhou, zhijiang hotel, and have a talk about Seam. that time, you gave us a good show.

Thank you very much. I was actually, very disappointed by that talk. I felt that that the talk was not well-suited to being translated and overall not quite right for the audience. I'm glad to hear that you still got something out of it. I'll be giving a very different talk this time around, and based on my first run of it, I'm confident it will go over much better.

I absolutely loved Hangzhou. With the exception of the nightmare of trying to get a taxi from the train station after the D train arrived, it was a great place. I was disappointed that I didn't have time to do the bike tour around the lake, so I guess I'll have to try and find an opportunity to go back to Hangzhou.

are you guys coming out to Los Angeles? I saw Gavin in a hotel in downtown LA a few years ago talking about Seam before it was GA I believe...

You can keep an eye on the Events page to find out about local talks. I don't see anything in LA. I'll be speaking in San Diego in a couple weeks, but I guess that's far enough away from LA that it's not really much consolation.

You might want to get your local JUG to contact Red Hat if there's interest in having a Seam talk in your area. (email me if you can't figure out who to contact) They can't accommodate every request, but Red Hat had been pretty good about getting us out there.

BTW: when i post this comment i fond a bug. in the comment area ,i can not input Chinese text. there will be a sql error.

I hadn't heard of that conference. I'll look into it.

I wonder, what would be the reason that is is more likely for you guys to go to China, in the other side of the world, to talk about Seam, and not to Mexico (we are much closer).

Ah, I just love the American centric view of the world ;-) Beijing is closer to me than Mexico.

But seriously, invite us to speak at your JUG/conference and we will try to find someone to come. If you don't know who to contact at JBoss, drop one of the dev team a line and we can put you in contact.

Damn! You are right 8600 km from Scotland to Mexico, and only 7900 km to Beijing! (Couln't resist to check it in Google Earth) But it isn't that much of a difference! ;-)
