No, you can run Seam applications in plain Tomcat 5.5+ or in the Sun GlassFish application server, as well as many others containers. See this page for more information.

You do mention Sun GlassFish application server, but in the referred page it is not listed (there are BEA, WAS, Oracle, Tomcat, JBoss off course, etc. but no GF). Is there any documentation pointing to deploy seam over GF?
Yeah, it would be nice to have a GF mini howto.
I would like to see a HOWTO or mini HOWTO for glassfish too.
